Last Saturday Mikey Garcia took on Jesse Vargas in a welterweight boxing match at Dallas Cowboys stadium.  A heated contest that left Mikey victorious with a unanimous decision.  Conrats to Mikey and the Robert Garcia Boxing gym.

This Saturday is UFC 248 in Las Vegas, the main event features Nigerian born New Zealander Israel “style bender” adesanya versus Yoel Romero in a highly anticipated middleweight title bout, the co-main event will feature Wiley Zhang versus Joanna Champion for the women’s straw weight title, another highly anticipated match-up that featured an intense stare down.  Make sure to watch this weeks MMA live on ESPN, check your local listings for times.

4 years ago on March 5th 2016, one of the most viewed MMA events ever took place inside the historic MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas between Stockton’s own Nate Diaz and the notorious Conor McGregor.  Oddsmakers gave Nate little to no chance having him a minus 500 underdog, along with pundits and fans thinking Nate had no chance to beat the notorious one, especially since only 12 days earlier Nate was enjoying the Cabo San Lucas sun in Mexico.  With the ultimate self-belief and a kill or be killed mentality, Nate strutted into the garden arena and was not surprised to emerge bloodied and victorious, as the entire MMA and combat community grind to a halt with disbelief.  Forever will this day of March 5 go into MMA lore as a historic moment.  WAR DIAZ always!
